Working with Webfox - What to Expect
Fees & Charges
Design & Setup Fees
Our website plans require a one-time Design and Setup Fee of $798AUD, with a minimum $399AUD deposit to get started. The Design & Setup fee covers the initial cost of Web Hosting, Domain Name, Required Plugin Licences, and of course, your custom website design. Payment plans for this initial fee are available on request.
If you need extra design work or technical features for your website, then we’ll quote and invoice these items separately.
Invoices for one-time payments will be emailed to you. You can pay one-time payments with cash, credit card, or bank transfer. All prices in these invoices are quoted in Australian Dollars. If you’re an overseas customer, then charges will be adjusted according to the conversion rate at the time of payment.
Payments for these invoices are due within 21 days from the date of issue. Late payments can incur fees of up to 1.5% per month.
Ongoing Hosting & Maintenance Fees
Once you’ve approved your website design, we’ll setup your ongoing monthly Hosting & Maintenance subscription (see what’s included in this subscription service here). Payments for the service will be charged to your credit card every 30 days, with the applicable rate:
- Standard Website Plans: $39AUD/month
- E-Commerce Website Plans: $49AUD/month
- Online Membership Website Plans: $59AUD/month
If a credit card charge fails, we won’t deactivate your account straight away. We’ll contact you ASAP and attempt to charge the current card 2 more times over 2 days.
However, if payment hasn’t been resolved within 7 days from the failed transaction, then your website will be deactivated. This means it will be removed from public view, and only Webfox will have access to it.
If payment hasn’t been resolved after 28 days from the failed transaction, then your website will be permanently removed, unless other arrangements have been made.
Cancellation of Services
You are welcome to cancel our services at any point, and we will stop all future billing. However, any fees already paid cannot be refunded (unless we fail to deliver our services as promised). Once your request has been processed, your hosting and domain accounts will be cancelled and website removed.
Design & Development
We prefer email contact as it provides written documentation of requests from both parties. We will respond to your emails within 48 hours, depending on the urgency of your message. If the matter is extremely urgent, you can send us a direct message (via Facebook Messenger: m.me/webfoxdesign), or give us a call on 0487 404 284, and we’ll do everything in our power to respond within the hour. Whilst it may not always be possible to respond this quickly, we’ll definitely endeavour to do so.
If phone or face-to-face meetings are more your thing, let us know and we can organise a day and time. Just be aware that face-to-face meetings at your location do attract call-out fees.
We pride ourselves in our attention to detail. Our promise to you is that we’ll deliver work of a high standard and in a timely fashion. During the development stage, we will keep you informed as to the progress of work, and when to expect tasks to be completed. In the rare case that a deadline may not be met, we will keep an open dialogue so you are aware of what is going on.
Our websites are all custom designed. A static visual may or may not be used to indicate our creative direction (in other words, we won’t waste time by mocking up very minor changes to the design). We’ll give you access to the development site and we’ll have regular, possibly daily contact by either email or messenger. This way you’ll have plenty of opportunities to review the work and provide feedback.
Any text you require to be added to the website must be supplied as a text-based format (email, word document, text file or similar). Whilst we do take care to ensure spelling and grammar is correct, we can’t take responsibility for any incorrect spelling/grammar or information, if it appears incorrect on the source material.
If you are only able to supply photographs or scans of hand-written notes, a small fee will be required to type up these notes.
Graphics and photographs
We love the look of high resolution images on our websites. Where possible, please send them in an acceptable high resolution digital format. In the interest in maintaining a high standard of work, we do reserve the right to exclude (or heavily modify) images that do not meet quality expectations. In the case of logos, a re-draw fee may be applicable if the quality is too low.
Browser testing no longer means attempting to make a website look the same in browsers of different capabilities or on devices with different size screens. It does mean ensuring that a person’s experience of a design should be appropriate to the capabilities of a browser or device.
We test our work in current versions of major desktop browsers including Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, and Mozilla Firefox. We won’t test in other older browsers unless we agreed separately. If you need an enhanced design for an older browser, we can provide a separate estimate for that.
Mobile browser testing
Testing using popular smaller screen devices is essential in ensuring that a person’s experience of a design is appropriate to the capabilities of the device they’re using. We test our designs in:
iOS: Safari and Google Chrome
Android: Google Chrome
We won’t test in Opera Mini/Mobile, specific Android devices, or other mobile browsers unless we agreed separately. If you need us to test using these, we can provide a separate estimate.
Search engine optimisation (SEO)
We will provide onsite SEO in the form of:
- Optimised page titles and descriptions
- Optimised header tags
- Optimised internal links
- ALT text for images
Whilst onsite SEO does help your search-engine ranking, we don’t guarantee significant improvements. If you wish to hire an external SEO expert, we will happy grant them access to the website.
Changes and revisions
We don’t want to limit your ability to change your mind. If you suddenly decide to change design direction, that won’t be a problem as we’ll provide a separate cost estimate for the additional time required.
